Jeffery Webber and Lionel Robin Killed in Colusa Plane Crash in Central California

Colusa, California (January 7, 2019) – 66-year-old Jeffery Thomas Webber of Healdsburg, California and 71-year-old Lionel J. Robin of Arnaudville, Louisiana have been identified as the persons killed in a plane crash Monday afternoon, outside Colusa, according to a local news source.
The deadly crash was reported at 12:15 p.m. Monday, January 7, near Colusa in Central California.
As per the report, the pilot, Webber allegedly hit a flock of birds and crashed in a retention pond adjacent to flooded rice lands.
The Colusa County Sheriff’s Department and its air squadron responded to the collision, and they confirmed the victims dead at the scene. They also found the pilot’s dog that was severely injured near the crash.
Officials said about 120 gallons of jet fuel A was released in the crash and into the water of a remote pond used by wildlife and crews were on the way to begin clean up.
No additional information was provided.
