Joe Sandoval Arrested after Ceres Hit-and-Run Accident That Injured 5 at Mitchell Road and Service Road

Ceres, California (January 4, 2018) – The alleged hit-and-run motorist who caused a traffic accident that injured five people, including two children, at an intersection in Ceres Thursday night has been arrested, a local news source reported.
The crash happened shortly after 7:30 p.m. Thursday, January 3 at the intersection of Mitchell Road and Service Road.
According to police, the suspect, identified as Joe Patrick Sandoval, 42, was driving a Honda Accord when for an unknown reason he hit a Nissan Sentra at the intersection.
Sandoval, who is living at a mobile home Park, just north of Keyes, did not stop and fled the scene without rendering aid. He was later located with lacerations to his head and face and broken ribs and was transported to the hospital.
Two boys ages 8 and 9, who were occupants of the Nissan, were airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center with more serious injuries including deep lacerations to their midsection. Reportedly, they were later listed in stable condition.
The three adults in the Nissan suffered mild to moderate injuries. The names of all the victims have not been released.
Sandoval is facing charges of felony hit-and-run.
The crash remains under investigation.
