Marysville, California (July 22, 2021) – A pedestrian was hospitalized Wednesday night after being struck by a patrol car in Marysville, the California Highway Patrol said.

The incident happened just before 11:00 p.m. on southbound Highway 70 near N Beale Road.

As per authorities, the pedestrian was hit by a patrol car of an unspecified police department under unclear circumstances.

The victim was transported to Rideout Medical Center with a laceration to the head and an injury to the left leg.

No other details were given about the crash.

CHP is investigating.
