Fresno, California (July 20, 2021) – The Fresno County Coroner’s Bureau has identified the woman who died Monday morning following a traffic collision in Fresno as Brandi Urena, 41, of Fresno.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened at around 11:37 a.m. Monday, July 19, on Highway 41.

The CHP said a white Honda Insight was speeding on Highway 41 when it rear-ended a black Toyota Yaris that had stopped for a red light in the northbound lanes.

The force of the impact pushed the Yaris into the back of a blue Honda Accord while the white Honda veered into the next lane, where it struck the front side of a Chevy.

Urena, who was the driver of the Yaris, was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injures.

The Insight driver faces charges of manslaughter after being released from the hospital, the CHP said.

The crash remains under investigation.
