Napa County, California (July 19, 2021) – The pilot who died along with two passengers Friday morning in a fiery plane crash in Angwin, Napa County, has been identified as Robert Nicholas, 73, of Murrieta.
The fatal crash happened at around 8:40 a.m. Friday, July 16 south of the Angwin Airport.
Authorities said the plane, a single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza, was attempting to land at the Angwin Airport when the plane clipped some trees and crashed into a vineyard.
The plane then caught fire.

Nicholas and his daughter and son-in-law from Virginia were killed in the accident.
No further details about the crash were immediately provided.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the accident.
