Avery, California (July 14, 2021) – An Avery accident involving two vehicles Tuesday night sent two people to the hospital, the California Highway Patrol said.

The CHP responded to the crash site at approximately 8:20 p.m. on Highway 4 at the intersection with Hunter Dam Road in Calaveras County.

It was not immediately established how the two vehicles crashed on the eastbound side of the highway.

Avery 2-Vehicle Collision

Two unidentified people, including one with major injuries, were rushed to an area hospital by paramedics for medication.

The crash resulted in the closure of the eastbound lanes of Highway 4 at Hunter Dam for about an hour.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
