Riverside, CA: Fatal Head-On Collision at Tyler Street and California Avenue
Anaheim Resident Killed,1 Seriously Injured in Riverside Crash at Tyler Street and California Avenue
Riverside, California (July 12, 2021) – A head-on crash has claimed the life of a driver and left another injured early Monday morning in Riverside, police said.
The deadly collision happened at around 1:13 a.m. at the intersection of Tyler Street and California Avenue.
According to the authorities, a 2004 Lexus was heading northbound on Tyler Street when the driver lost control and drifted across the center divider.
The Lexus then collided head-on with a 2011 Nissan Sentra.

A 52-year-old Anaheim resident, who was the driver of the Sentra, was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
The 28-year-old driver of the Lexus sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
Police closed Tyler Street in both directions during the investigation and cleanup. It is undetermined whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
