Castroville, California (July 12, 2021) – A dirt bike rider was injured after being struck by a hit-and-run driver Saturday night in Castroville, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The crash happened at around 8:26 p.m. Saturday, July 10, at the intersection of Sanchez Street and Seymour Street.

According to the CHP, a dirt bike was hit by a vehicle under unclear circumstances at the Castroville intersection.

The rider sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The name and condition of the victim were not immediately disclosed.

The driver of the vehicle involved fled the scene after hitting the victim. There was no description of the suspect’s vehicle or driver.
