San Francisco, California (July 11, 2021) – Three people, including two juveniles, were injured Sunday evening in a traffic crash in the Outer Mission neighborhood in San Francisco,  according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision involving two vehicles was reported at about 5:05 p.m. on Interstate 280.

CHP said one car slammed into the back of another vehicle on the southbound side of Interstate 280.

The car that struck the vehicle overturned after the impact.

One adult and two children, who were in the vehicle that was rear-ended, were transported to a trauma center with minor injuries.

The occupants of the overturned vehicle, who were not injured, were picked up by another car to flee the scene.

The crash prompted the officers to close three lanes of Interstate 280 between the San Jose Avenue on-ramp and the Ocean Avenue off-ramp for nearly half an hour.

No further details about the crash were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
