Santa Maria, California (July 9, 2021) – An alleged hit-and-run collision that occurred in Santa Maria Thursday afternoon injured one person, the California Highway Patrol said.

The CHP responded to the crash site just before 3:00 p.m. at 1910 East Stowell Road near Rosemary Road.

The accident involved a gold Ford truck and a red sedan that crashed on the highway under unclear circumstances.

Due to the impact, one of the vehicles acquired a broken axle.

One unidentified person sustained a head injury following the collision.

The crash resulted in the closure of a section of Stowell Road for an unknown time.

Meanwhile, the CHP is gathering more evidence to locate one of the drivers who escaped the scene after the accident.
