Santa Paula Police Officer Hospitalized after Santa Paula Crash at Steckel Drive and Estriga Court
Santa Paula, California (July 6, 2021) – A Santa Paula police officer was injured in a Sunday night traffic accident in Santa Paula, authorities said.
The accident occurred at about 11:00 p.m., on July 4, at the intersection of Steckel Drive and Estriga Court.
Officers were reportedly sent out to check out a report that illegal fireworks were being launched in the area.
For unknown reasons, as one of the responding officers was standing near his patrol vehicle, a car struck its driver’s side door while northbound on Steckel Drive. The car then swerved and struck the officer, the police said.

The police officer was injured in the accident and was hospitalized for treatment.
The involved driver, Anthony Aceves, 40, of Santa Paula, was impaired when the accident occurred.
He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence causing injury, police said. He was booked at the Ventura County Jail and held on $50,000 bail.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
