At Least 1 Injured in Mentone Accident on State Route 38

Mentone, California (July 5, 2021) – A male rider was hurt following a motorcycle collision that happened Saturday afternoon in Mentone, the California Highway Patrol said.
The hit-and-run crash was reported just about 3:35 p.m., on July 3, along State Route 38.
The accident began when a motorcyclist heading west on SR-38 tried to pass a sedan while riding along the double yellow line of the roadway. The male rider then approached an automobile coming from the opposite path and veered back into the westbound side to evade a head-on crash.
In the process, the man rear-ended the westbound sedan and sustained unspecified injuries.
Meanwhile, the two motorists involved in the collision escaped the crash site without rendering aid to the injured victim.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
