Minor Injuries Sustained in Stockton Collision on Highway 99 near Cherokee Road
Stockton, California (July 5, 2021) – Minor injuries were sustained in a DUI collision that happened Saturday afternoon on a highway in Stockton, the California Highway Patrol said.
Authorities received reports about the accident at around 2:51 p.m. on southbound Highway 99 near Cherokee Road.
Two vehicles were involved in the collision, including one that overturned.
Several witnesses said the car that overturned was recklessly driving prior to the collision. The driver of that car was stuck inside the vehicle but was conscious and breathing.
Authorities said the crash resulted in minor injuries. An ambulance was requested to the scene to offer medical aid.
One of the drivers was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the crash, the report said.
An investigation to determine the cause of the crash is ongoing.
