Kern County, California (July 1, 2021) – The motorcyclist who was killed Sunday afternoon in a crash with a car near Arvin has been identified as Devyn Adonis Marroquin-Ruano, 23, of Bakersfield, according to a report by the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.

The fatal collision took place at around 1:15 p.m. June 27, at the intersection of Highway 223 and Tower Line Road.

CHP said Marroquin-Ruano was riding a motorcycle heading south on Tower Line Road when he failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with an SUV heading east on Highway 223.

Marroquin-Ruano was thrown off the bike by the impact of the collision.

Marroquin-Ruano was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other motorist was hospitalized with minor injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.
