Ignacia Gonzalez ID’d as Woman Killed in Whittier Car Crash on San Gabriel River Freeway and Rose Hills Road Off-Ramp

Whittier, California (June 25, 2021) –Ignacia Lucas Gonzalez, 49, of El Monte, has been identified as the woman who was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on Friday morning in Whittier, authorities said.
The California Highway Patrol said the deadly multi-vehicle wreck happened at around 2:27 a.m. on the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway and Rose Hills Road exit.
According to the CHP, a Toyota CHR driven by Gonzalez and a Toyota Corolla collided, just north of Rose Hills Road.
Following the collision, a Ford F-150 pickup reportedly crashed into the Toyota CHR and was struck a second time by a Ford C-Max.

Sadly, Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene.
The northbound No. 1, 2 and 3 lanes of the 605, the northbound HOV lane and the Rose Hills Road off-ramp to the 605 were temporarily blocked following the wreck.
No further details about the crash were immediately provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
