Shefner Moore Arrested in DUI Crash That Killed Brawley Man in Calipatria
Shefner Moore Arrested after Calipatria Crash on Highway 115 and East Albright Road
Calipatria, California (June 28, 2021) – Authorities have arrested a suspect involved in a DUI crash that left a Brawley resident dead Saturday afternoon southeast of Calipatria.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly two-car crash happened at about 4:00 p.m., Saturday, June 26, on Highway 115 and East Albright Road.
The CHP said Shefner Larnell Moore, 54, also of Brawley, was driving a 2012 Ford Fusion on East Albright Road when he allegedly ran a red light and traveled westbound into the path of a 2006 Ford F-250 pickup that was heading southbound on Highway 115 through the intersection.
The Fusion ultimately crashed into the side of the pickup. After the impact, the pickup overturned multiple times and landed on its tires while the Fusion veered into a dirt embankment on the side of the road.

The driver of the pickup, only identified as a 60-year-old Brawley man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of relatives.
Moore was airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs for treatment of internal injuries. He was placed under arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and manslaughter.
The crash remains under investigation.
