Bicyclist Injured in Collision with MTS Bus on Park Boulevard in East Village
Rider Seriously Injured in East Village Bicycle Accident on Park Boulevard and Broadway

East Village, California (June 28, 2021) – A bicyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a Metropolitan Transit System bus Sunday night in the East Village neighbourhood in San Diego, according to San Diego police.
The major injury crash happened at around 7:40 p.m. Sunday, June 27 at the intersection of Broadway and Park Boulevard.
Police said a 33-year-old man was riding his bicycle southbound on the Park Boulevard sidewalk when he entered the crosswalk and crashed into the side of the MTS bus that was turning right onto Broadway from southbound Park Boulevard.
As a result of the crash, the bicyclist went under the right front wheel of the bus.
East Village Bicycle Crash at Park Boulevard and Broadway Sends Man to Hospital
The rider was transported to a local hospital with a compound fracture in one of his ankles. His name and condition were not immediately disclosed.
The driver of the MTS bus, a 49-year-old man, did not suffer any injuries.
No further details about the crash were immediately provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
