Bakersfield, California (June 23, 2021) – A pedestrian died after being struck by a car in Bakersfield on Tuesday night, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The pedestrian accident happened at about 9:15 p.m. June 22, at the intersection of Bernard and North Baker streets.
The 55-year-old man was crossing Bernard Street in a marked crosswalk when a 2009 Chevrolet Impala heading eastbound on the street struck him.

The officers who responded to the incident found the man down on the roadway with major injuries.
The unidentified man was taken to Kern Medical center where he died while undergoing treatment.
The involved motorist remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
