El Cajon Accident on Interstate 8 Near First Street Sends 1 to Hospital

El Cajon, California (June 19, 2021) – An El Cajon accident involving two vehicles Thursday afternoon sent one person to the hospital.
Officials responded to the crash site in the afternoon hours on Interstate 8 near First Street.
The accident happened when a 1994 Chevrolet Astrovan rear-ended a 2001 Toyota Tacoma that was heading west on the interstate under unclear circumstances.
Due to the impact, the pickup truck overturned on its roof after crashing into a perimeter fence.
Major Injury El Cajon Accident
The pickup male operator sustained serious injuries following the June 17 collision. The unidentified victim was rushed to a local hospital for medication.
Meanwhile, the Astrovan motorist, 64-year-old party, survived with minor injuries in the crash.
The accident remains under an active investigation.
