Long Beach, California (June 11, 2021) – Authorities have arrested a man suspect to have caused a collision that injured an infant Thursday morning at an intersection in Long Beach.

At about 11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 10, emergency personnel responded to the report of a pedestrian having been struck by a vehicle in the area of 67th Street and Long Beach Boulevard.

Authorities said a mother was pushing her 7-month old baby in a stroller inside a crosswalk when an early-1990s model white Ford Explorer struck the stroller.

Baby Injured in Long Beach Hit-and-Run Crash

The boy sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. Her mother was unhurt.

The driver of the Ford did not stop and fled the scene. On Friday, the suspect, identified as Burnett Livingston, 62, of Compton, was arrested. His vehicle was located in the Lindbergh neighborhood of Long Beach.

Livingston was booked into jail for felony hit-and-run. His bail was set at $50,000.

The crash remains under investigation.
