French Camp, CA: CHP Investigating Major Injury Hit-and-Run Collision on Interstate 5 Near Mathews Road

French Camp, California (June 10, 2021) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of an alleged hit-and-run collision that took place in French Camp Wednesday afternoon

The major injury crash happened on Interstate 5 just south of the Mathews Road off-ramp at approximately 3:40 p.m.

The accident involved a gray pickup truck, a white 2015 Toyota Corolla and two other automobiles that crashed on the northbound side of the freeway for undetermined reasons.

A woman riding in the Toyota sustained major injuries following the crash. She was attended to by paramedics before being taken to an area hospital for medication.

One of the involved motorists escaped the scene before the police arrived.

The investigators are gathering more evidence to determine the cause of the accident.
