1 Hospitalized after Fallbrook Crash on Interstate 15 near Mission Road

Fallbrook, California (June 4, 2021) – One person was hospitalized early Friday morning after a wrong-way car crash in Fallbrook, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred shortly after 4:00 a.m. in the northbound lane of Interstate 15 near Mission Road.
A vehicle was traveling southbound in the northbound lane of Interstate 15 when it collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle, the CHP said.
The northbound vehicle bursts into flames after the crash.
Major Injury Traffic Collision in Fallbrook
Bystanders reportedly pulled the driver out of the burning vehicle. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
The wrong-way motorist was also taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries before being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 15 were closed following the wreck.
The crash remains under investigation.
