Bakersfield, California (June 2, 2021) – A Bakersfield accident involving two vehicles Wednesday afternoon resulted in major injuries, the California Highway Patrol said.

The two-vehicle collision occurred on Alfred Harrell Highway near McMannus Road at approximately 2:18 p.m. on June 2.

The accident happened when a small black sedan swerved into the opposite eastbound traffic before colliding head-on with a Parks and Recreation automobile.

Officials requested two trucks to remove both wrecked automobiles away from the scene.
