Motorcyclist Chanel Garcia Hospitalized after Huntington Beach Motorcycle Accident on Beach Boulevard

Huntington Beach, California (June 2, 2021) – Authorities have identified the motorcyclist who sustained serious injuries following an alleged DUI traffic collision on Memorial Day in Huntington Beach as Chanel Garcia.
The major injury crash happened on Beach Boulevard near Slater Avenue at approximately 7:30 p.m.
As per the report, a large truck operated by 26-year-old Christopher Johnstone rear-ended a motorcycle that was stopping at a red light on May 31.
Due to the impact, the motorcycle was trapped under the large automobile.
Chanel Garcia Major Injury Crash
The motorcyclist, Garcia, was hospitalized with critical injuries after the collision.
The crash resulted in the closure of a section of Beach Boulevard on the southbound side between Slater Avenue and Newman Avenue for several hours.
Johnstone, a Costa Mesa resident, was later arrested and charged with driving under the influence, causing bodily injury and possession of a controlled narcotic substance.
The Huntington Beach Police Department is still investigating the cause of the accident.
