Otay Mesa, California (May 27, 2021) – Two U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers were among three people injured in a traffic collision in Otay Mesa on Wednesday afternoon, according to the San Diego police.

At around 4:20 p.m. May 26, police said a pickup and an SUV were involved in a T-bone crash in the area of Siempre Viva Road at Las Californias Drive.

It’s unclear what caused the crash.

Customs and Border Protection Officers Injured in Otay Mesa Collision

Two CBP officers who were on duty were injured.

Medics responded to the incident and attended to the two officers and the driver of the second vehicle, who complained of neck pain. The three were taken to hospital for further treatment.

No further details were released.

The crash is under investigation.
