Adrian Calderon Killed in Merced Crash at Yosemite Avenue and Lake Road
Merced, California (May 25, 2021) – Adrian Calderon, 40, of Ceres has been identified as the man who was killed in a Sunday night traffic accident that occurred in Merced, according to the authorities.
The wreck happened shortly before 8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 23, at Yosemite Avenue and Lake Road near UC Merced.
According to CHP, Calderon was heading south on Lake Road in a 2001 Honda when he failed to stop for traffic ahead and slammed into the back of a 2014 Honda Accord that was being operated by Rita Ceja, 36, of Merced.
The Honda was pushed into the rear of a 2018 Dodge Durango driven by Melanie Graham of Carl Junction.

Calderon was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Mercy Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.
Ceja and two of her passengers, a 40-year-old man and an 11-year-old girl, were both transported to Mercy Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
Authorities said drugs or alcohol were not believed to have played a role in the accident.
The collision is under investigation.
