San Francisco Fatal Pedestrian Accident at Polk and Hayes Streets Critically injures Daniel Ramos
Daniel Ramos Hospitalized after Fatal San Francisco Hit-and-Run at Polk and Hayes Streets

San Francisco, California (May 24, 2021) – 28-year-old man Daniel Ramos has been identified as the victim who sustained critical injuries following a fatal hit-and-run collision in San Francisco Tuesday evening.
The deadly pedestrian crash took place at around 7 p.m. at the intersection of Polk and Hayes streets.
The accident happened when a Chevy Avalanche, driven by 57–year–old Virgil Woods south on Polk Street, ran a red light and collided with Audi an A-6 traveling west along Hayes on May 18.
The Chevy then hit Ramos and his girlfriend, 29-year-old Lovisa Svallingson, while crossing the San Francisco intersection.

Sadly, Svallingson was pronounced dead at the crash site while Daniel survived with life-threatening injuries. He was then transported to the Zuckerberg-San Francisco General Hospital for treatment.
Virgil, who fled the scene after the collision, was later arrested and booked into the county jail on suspicion of multiple counts of reckless driving, vehicular manslaughter, possession of paraphernalia drug , two counts of felony hit-and-run, and failure to stop at a red light.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
