Sacramento, California (May 22, 2021) – The Sacramento County Coroner has disclosed the identities of the two teenagers who died in a violent car crash in North Sacramento on Friday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at the intersection of Striker Avenue and National Drive at about 7 p.m. May 21.
A Mustang was traveling at a high rate of speed on westbound Striker Avenue when it ran a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a Malibu.
The Mustang overturned after the collision.
Mohammed Mahir Subhi Al Salih, 19, and Ali Shoker Ali, 18, who were in the rear passenger seats of the Mustang were ejected from the vehicle and were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Mustang driver and his front passenger were hospitalized with major injuries.
Three people including a child, who were in the Malibu, sustained moderate injuries and were transported to the hospital for treatment.
The authorities were yet to establish if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
