Aden Uriostegui Hit, Killed by DUI Suspect at Tustin Street and Heim Avenue in Orange

Orange, California (May 20, 2021) – Aden Uriostegui, 19, of Orange, has been as the male pedestrian who was hit and killed by a suspected DUI driver Wednesday night as he was walking in a crosswalk in Orange, according to the Orange County Sheriff-Coroner’s Department.

The incident happened at about 10:10 p.m. at the intersection of Tustin Street and Heim Avenue.

According to the officials, Uriostegui was attempting to cross Tustin on the north side of the intersection in a crosswalk when a Ford F-250 pickup truck, driven by 39-year-old Sitani Pimoni, of Orange, struck him.

Pimoni was headed southbound on Tustin Street, when he ran a red light and struck Uriostegui, the police said.

Sadly, Uriostegui sustained fatal injuries in the accident.

Pimoni stopped after the crash and was determined to be under the influence and arrested him. Pimoni had a prior DUI conviction out of Los Angeles County in 2007, the officials said.

Pimoni was booked into jail on suspicion of murder, where he was being held on no bail.

Authorities are investigating the incident.
