Gardena, CA: CHP Investigating Major Injury Crash on S Avalon Blvd and E Redondo Beach Blvd

Gardena, California (May 18, 2021) – At least one person was seriously injured after two vehicles collided Monday afternoon at an intersection in Gardena, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The crash was reported at about 1:06 p.m. at S Avalon Boulevard and E Redondo Beach Boulevard.

As per the CHP, a gray BMW and a gold sedan collided under unclear circumstances.

The driver of the BMW got out of the vehicle after the crash and sat on the curb. The motorist appeared to be injured.

Multiple parties at the scene were helping the driver and a passenger of the sedan get out of their vehicle. The passenger was possibly trapped.

Firefighters responded to the scene shortly after and helped the victims.

At least one person suffered major injuries in the accident. An ambulance was sent to the scene to take the person to the hospital.

CHP is investigating the cause of the collision.
