1 Trapped in El Cajon Collision on 1215 Vista Sierra Drive

El Cajon, California (May 15, 2021) – One person was hospitalized with serious injuries after a DUI traffic collision that happened Friday night in El Cajon, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The accident happened at about 10:33 p.m. in the 1215 block of Vista Sierra Drive.
The pileup involved three vehicles, including one that rolled off a cliff.
The report said the driver of that car was trapped inside and that they were traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the crash.
Good Samaritans at the scene were trying to get the driver out of the vehicle but said Jaws of Life were possibly needed to get the party out.
Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene to help the motorists.
Authorities said one driver suffered major injuries in the accident. The driver was cited for DUI and released to the hospital.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
