Hayward, CA: Major Injuries Sustained in Multi-Vehicle Collision on 880 Freeway
At Least 1 Seriously Injured in Hayward Crash on 880 Freeway near Winton Avenue Off-Ramp
Hayward, California (May 10, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a major injury multi-vehicle collision that happened early Monday morning on 880 Freeway in Hayward.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pileup occurred at about 1:48 a.m. in the northbound lanes near the W Winton Avenue off-ramp.
Three vehicles were involved in the collision, blocking the lanes Nos. 3 and 5.
CHP officers and Hayward firefighters responded to the scene to help the motorists.
The report said major injuries were sustained in the collision. The number of patients, however, was not mentioned. An ambulance was requested to the scene to transport the victims to the hospital.
No other details were given, but CHP is investigating.
