One Dies in Highway 243 Crash in San Jacinto Mountains
San Jacinto Mountains, California (May 10, 2021) – One person was killed in a crash on Highway 243 near Pine Cove in San Jacinto Mountains on Sunday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident happened just before 2:32 p.m. May 9, in the 19000 block of Highway 243.
CHP said a silver SUV and a black SUV collided head-on on the highway.
At least one of the SUVs rolled over following the crash.

One person died at the scene of the crash while three others were injured.
A helicopter airlifted one party with critical injuries. The other injured parties had moderate injuries and were transported by ground ambulances.
Both directions of Highway 243 were closed as authorities examined and cleared the scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
