Humboldt County, California (May 8, 2021) – A rider sustained major injuries in a collision with a gray Dodge pickup truck Saturday morning just south of Arcata, Humboldt County.

The major injury accident happened on Highway 101 at Bayside Cutoff just around 11:13 a.m. on May 8.

It was not immediately established how the pickup truck crashed with a red sports motorbike in the morning hours.

The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet and protective gear, sustained major injuries in the crash.

An ambulance was requested to the scene, as per the report.

Meanwhile, traffic in the area was backing up to about 11:28 a.m.

The detectives handling the case are gathering more evidence to determine the cause of the accident.
