Daly City, California (May 8, 2021) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured Friday morning in a traffic accident in Daly City, according to a California Highway Patrol report.

The major injury crash occurred at around 11:03 a.m. Friday, May 7, on the Interstate 280 Freeway near State Route 1.

As per the CHP report, a red motorcycle collided with a car for unknown reasons on the freeway.

The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital with major injuries. The name of the victim and their condition were not immediately disclosed.

A tow truck was dispatched to remove the motorcycle from the crash site.

The roadway was closed during the investigation. It is still unclear whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision.

The crash remains under investigation.
