One Hurt in Old Town Crash on Congress Street near San Diego Avenue and Ampudia Street

Old Town, California (May 6, 2021) – One person was injured in a bicycle accident that took place on Congress Street near San Diego Avenue and Ampudia Street in Old Town Wednesday night, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The crash happened at around 8 p.m. May 5.
Police said a 30-year-old driver traveling southbound on Congress Street attempted to make a three-point-turn on the roadway but entered the path of a bicyclist.
The rider, a 57-year-old man, slammed into the passenger’s side of the vehicle and was ejected onto the roadway.
Man Injured in Old Town Bicycle Accident
The victim was then hit by another vehicle that was being driven by a 51-year-old woman.
Police said the victim was rushed to a hospital with serious non-life-threatening injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
The San Diego Police Department is investigating the crash.
