Jacob Rolon and Alexander Smiller Killed in Car Accident at Brookhurst Street and Orange Avenue in Anaheim
Anaheim, California (May 6, 2021) – Jacob Rolon, 32, of La Mirada, and Alexander Smiller, 63, of Los Angeles, have been identified by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department as two of the three people who were killed in a violent car crash in Anaheim on Tuesday morning.
The fatal collision occurred near the intersection of Brookhurst Street and Orange Avenue at about 2:50 a.m. May 4.
The California Highway Patrol said a Kia SUV that collided with a Mercedes-Benz on the roadway in unclear circumstances. The Mercedes caught fire after the collision.
The firefighters who responded to the incident had to cut the roof off the Kia to reach the victims.
Rolon, Smiller and a third person, all of who were occupants of the Kia, died at the scene of the accident, according to the Anaheim Police Department.
A woman who was driving the Mercedes and her passenger left the scene of the accident before the authorities arrived. They were found in an area hospital.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The authorities are investigating the accident as a possible hit-and-run.
