Humboldt County, California (May 4, 2021) – Minor injuries were reported Monday night following a head-on collision in Redcrest, Humboldt County.

According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at about 9:05 p.m. Monday, May 3, on Highway 101 near the Redcrest exit.

A silver Toyota 4-Runner collided head-on with a white Dodge pickup in the southbound lane of Highway 101, the CHP report states.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found one person trapped in one of the involved vehicles. The patient complained of neck and back pain following the wreck.

Three other victims had minor injuries but declined transportation to the hospital.

The authorities closed two southbound lanes while the investigation and cleanup took place.

The crash remains under investigation.
