San Jose, California (April 29, 2021) – A disabled woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver Wednesday night at an intersection in San Jose, authorities said.

The deadly pedestrian accident occurred at around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, at the intersection of Monterey Highway and Curtner Avenue.

According to the authorities, the woman using a walker was walking westbound across Monterey Highway when a vehicle hit her.

The woman was taken to a hospital, where she later died from her injuries. Her name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the scene. There was no description of the suspect’s vehicle or driver.

Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run driver.

A section of northbound Monterey Highway from Curtner Avenue was closed during the investigation.
