Katelyn Journigan Killed in Ventura Head-On Collision on Harbor Boulevard
Ventura, California (April 27, 2021) – The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified 26-year-old Katelyn M. Journigan as the Ventura driver who died following a two-vehicle collision Friday night in Ventura.
The fatal head-on crash took place shortly before 10:15 p.m., on April 23, along Harbor Boulevard, west of Sanjon Road.
As per the Ventura Police Department report, a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Journigan eastbound in the westbound lane of the Harbor Boulevard crashed head-on with a 2020 Kia Optima operated by a female party.

Journigan, who was not wearing a seat belt, died in the accident
The Kia Optima operator sustained serious injuries, including major head trauma in the crash. The female party was attended to by paramedics before being rushed to the intensive care unit at Ventura County Medical Center for medication.
Another Kia occupant survived with non-life-threatening injuries and was also hospitalized after the collision. The patient was released from the hospital early Saturday.
