Coroner Identifies Kimberly Bennett as Woman Hit and Killed by DUI Driver on Mission Inn Avenue in Riverside

Riverside, California (April 25, 2021) – 33-year-old Kimberly Bennett has been identified as the San Bernardino woman who was hit and killed by a suspected DUI hit-and-run driver in Riverside Saturday evening

The fatal crash happened in the 4600 block of Mission Inn Avenue near Indian Hills Road at approximately 7:55 p.m. on April 17.

Bennett was hit by a red 2003 Ford Ranger  driven by Mason Rodney Howard while walking on the sidewalk in the highway’s eastbound lanes.

Kimberly was helping an injured dog that was struck by another vehicle prior to the collision.

Sadly, Bennett died in the accident.

Howard, who was intoxicated at the crash time, did not stop to render aid to the deceased and fled the scene eastbound on the roadway.

The Laguna Niguel suspect was later found, arrested and soon booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in lieu of a $1 million bail.
