Aldo Cantabrana and Sheriff’s Sergeant Injured in Car Accident on Highway 247 in Johnson Valley
Johnson Valley, California (April 24, 2021) – An on-duty San Bernardino County sheriff’s sergeant and another driver were injured after their vehicles collided in Johnson Valley on Tuesday morning.
The collision happened on Highway 247 near Crestview Road at about 6:15 a.m. April 20.
The sergeant, who was stationed at the sheriff’s Barstow office, was traveling southbound on the highway in an unmarked departmental silver Ford Taurus.
The officer was trying to pass an unknown vehicle when he collided with a northbound Nissan Altima driven by 35-year-old Aldo Cantabrana, of Yucca Valley.
Both drivers were seriously injured in the crash and were transported to Desert Regional Medical Center by Morongo Basin Ambulance.
No further information about the crash was released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
