Diane Martini ID’d as Woman Killed in Placerville Crash on Highway 50 near Ice House Road

Placerville, California (April 21, 2021) – The woman who died Thursday night following a traffic accident in Placerville has been identified as Diane Martini, 45, of Ukiah, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly crash took place on Highway 50, just east of Ice House Road, on Thursday, April 15.
Martini was driving a 2017 Jeep Cherokee eastbound on Highway 50 when, for unknown reasons, the Jeep veered to the left across the double yellow line and into the opposite lane, where it collided head-on with a westbound 2012 Volvo Tractor hauling a flatbed trailer, the CHP report states.
After the collision, the Jeep crashed into a guardrail while the big rig drifted into the right-hand shoulder of the highway and slammed into a dirt embankment before coming to a stop.

Martini died at the scene. The truck driver, Michael Tillman, 39, of Humble, Texas, was taken to Marshall Hospital for precautionary reasons, the CHP said.
Further details about the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
