Modesto, California (April 20, 2021) – The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office has identified the transient man who was hit and killed by a vehicle Friday night in Modesto as 47-year-old Ronald Bryan Brown.

The deadly crash took place on Highway 99 near 9th Street on April 16.

The accident happened when Bryan Brown, who was standing in the center median before entering the southbound lane of the highway, was hit by a bronze Hyundai Accent.

The California Highway Patrol said the Hyundai was moving at around 70 to 75 mph in the fast lane prior to the collision.

Sadly, the pedestrian was declared dead at the crash site.

There were no other victims hurt following the crash.

Intoxication was not considered as a factor in the mishap.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
