Commerce, CA: Major Injury Crash on Santa Ana Freeway
6 Injured, 1 Critically in Commerce Crash on Santa Ana Freeway near Slauson Avenue
Commerce, California (April 19, 2021) – Six people were injured, one critically in a two-vehicle accident on Monday morning in Commerce, authorities said.
The major injury accident occurred at about 2:40 a.m. on northbound Santa Ana Freeway, just south of Slauson Avenue.
A witness told the California Highway Patrol that at least two vehicles smashed into a sedan that was stalled in the fast lane.
Two people were hospitalized, one with major injuries and the other with moderate injuries. Four other parties sustained minor injuries.
Traffic on the roadway was stopped due to the accident. As of 5:09 a.m., all the lanes were reopened.
The crash remains under investigation.
