Cottonwood, California (April 15, 2021) – Authorities have identified the pedestrian who was hit and killed by a vehicle on Tuesday night in Cottonwood as Hans Buschhaus, 74, of Cottonwood.
The deadly pedestrian accident occurred at about 11:40 p.m., on April 6, on Interstate 5, just north of Sunset Hills Drive.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Buschhaus was walking in the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 when he was struck by a 2021 Honda Civic, driven by Adrienne Randall, 40, from Forest Grove, Oregon.
Cottonwood Man Killed in Crash on Interstate 5
Buschhaus was pronounced dead at the scene.
Traffic on the roadway was stopped for an unknown period due to the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
