One Person Killed in Boyle Heights Pedestrian Crash on Pomona Freeway near Lorena Street On-Ramp

Boyle Heights, California (April 9, 2021) – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle on Thursday evening in Boyle Heights, authorities said.
The deadly accident occurred at about 6:30 p.m., on April 8, on the westbound Pomona (60) Freeway near Lorena Street on-ramp.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on the freeway for undetermined reasons.
Sadly, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The four right lanes of the westbound Pomona Freeway at Lorena Street and the Lorena Street on-ramp were closed due to the crash and a SigAlert issued.
More details about the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
