Jim Haye Dies Days after Motorcycle Accident on Highway 101 in Shell Beach
Jim Haye ID’d as Motorcyclist Killed in Shell Beach Crash on Highway 101 near Avila Beach Drive
Shell Beach, California (April 5, 2021) – Jim Hayes, 62, has succumbed to his injuries Saturday, nearly two weeks after being involved in a hit-and-run accident near Shell Beach.
The accident occurred at about 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, on southbound Highway 101, just south of Avila Beach Drive.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Hayes was riding his motorcycle in the southbound lanes of Highway 101 when he was reportedly hit by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene.
Motorcyclist Killed in Highway 101 crash Identified
Hayes sustained leg and head injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. On Saturday, April 3, Hayes’s condition deteriorated, and he died from his injuries.
There was no description of the suspect’s vehicle or driver.
Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run suspect.
