Jasmine De La Cruz Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on 110 Freeway in Los Angeles

Los Angeles, California (March 31, 2021) – Jasmine Hope De La Cruz, 23, Bellflower, has been identified as one of the two parties who were killed in a Tuesday morning wrong-way crash that killed left three other people, including a 4-year-old boy, injured in Los Angeles, according to the coroner’s office.

The deadly accident occurred at about 2:00 a.m. on the northbound 110 Freeway near 9th Street.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a Lexus SUV, operated by a 32-year-old San Pedro man, was driving southbound in the northbound lanes when it collided with a Toyota Corolla, driven by a 21-year-old Downey man.

A third vehicle, a Toyota Corolla, reportedly crashed into the two vehicles. Fortunately, the driver was not injured.

Sadly, De La Cruz and the Downey man were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the SUV was extricated from the vehicle and taken to a hospital with major injuries. A 32-year-old woman and a 4-year-old boy, also San Pedro residents, who were passengers in the SUV sustained moderate injuries.

Traffic on the roadway was stopped for an unknown period due to the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
