East Los Angeles, California (March 30, 2021) – Jeffrey McKee, 35, of Norco in Riverside County, has been identified as the man who was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on Sunday morning in East Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.

The deadly accident occurred at about 5:25 a.m., on March 29, on the northbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway at the transition road to the northbound Long Beach (710) Freeway.

According to the officials, McKee was driving home from work at Inmate Reception Center when he was involved in a multi-vehicle traffic collision at the intersection.

The multi-vehicle collision was apparently caused by a detached tire from a vehicle that was traveling in the opposite direction.

Sadly, McKee was pronounced dead at the scene. He was a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy.

More details about the accident were not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
